Above and Beyond Early Learning – Bundaberg provides a safe, nurturing environment designed to foster exploration, learning and growth in children aged from 6 weeks to 5 years. The centre is open Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 51 weeks of the year (excluding weekends and public holidays).
Their educational philosophy is inspired by the Reggio-inspired curriculum, which holds that children bring their own perspectives, knowledge and skills to their learning. The programs are child-focused and initiated, aiming to stimulate curiosity and imagination, while supplying real tools, high-quality materials and an environment rich in possibilities.
Playspaces are designed to reflect the different developmental stages: from nursery (birth-15 months) through toddler (15 months-2 years), junior kindy (2-3 years), senior kindy (3-4 years) and kindergarten (4-5 years). Outdoor environments are also emphasised for physical health and wellbeing.
Nutrition is managed on-site by a qualified chef, with all meals prepared daily according to the Australian Nutritional Guidelines and “Eat Well Australia”. Children of all ages share a meals area which encourages socialising and learning during mealtimes. All meals and snacks are included as part of the fees.
The centre emphasises strong family-partnerships, recognising that caregivers and families play a vital role in a child’s education. They maintain an open-door policy, use daily reports, parent-teacher meetings and regular communication to keep families engaged and informed. Safety and wellbeing are likewise prioritised, with trained staff, secure entry systems, CCTV monitoring and cleaning/sanitisation procedures in place.
